In the beginning Barclay’s primary focus was on men’s tailored suits, sport coats, dress shirts and accessories.Stanley Harrison joined his father in 1949 as the business was quickly growing, and the two began to expand Barclay’s. In 1965 Barclay’s moved into 318 N. Main St, doubling the store’s square footage to allow for a wider product presentation.From the beginning, the vision at Barclay’s was to provide excellent quality clothing at very fair value, with superior customer service and fine tailoring.By 1984 Barclay’s was continuing to grow with the purchase of the GC Murphy building to the south. This expansion increased their floor space to 10,000 square feet.
